Dracena: you must have it!

12/07/2022 | Gardening, Inspiration

From the Monstera… to the Dracena 😃
As we think of all of you, for professional deformation 👉🏻 give a look at all the models of pots we can offer 😆 and we also think of those who have a thumb … differently green 🌱

The Dracena is a loved and widespread plant for indoor environments because it is easy to care for and to keep healthy!
It is an evergreen shrubby and semi-shrubby plant belonging to the order of the Liliaceae and native to the hot and humid areas of Africa and Asia.
There are many types of dracaena (about 40) which differ mainly in the color of the leaves. Generally speaking, the dracaena is a medium-sized plant with an elegant erect trunk and long, slightly pointed leaves.

DON’T FORGET 😉

There are aspects, that you have to consider when you buy a dracena:

  1. First of all, remember that the dracaena soil must be well drained and rich in organic material. It is also recommended to use a little bark to maintain the humidity of the soil itself.
  2. The dracaena needs to be positioned in an area of the house where it can receive light but not directly. It is also very important not to expose it to cold drafts.
  3. Watering should not be too abundant because it could cause rotting roots. In principle, this plant should be watered once a week in winter and twice a week in summer time.

And what happens if our dracaena grows too much?
We suggest you repotting 😉
Every two or three years we should repot it by using a pot with a larger diameter but not too much, in order not to alter the right proportions between the aerial and the root system of the plant, at this stage the soil too should also be renewed. Remember that the best time to repot is spring but for all the details ☺️

AND THEN?

The dracena has the great advantage of adapting itself easily even in the most extreme conditions. It is often placed, also for its objective beauty, between sofas, on stairs, in shops or offices.
… yes, we also suggest you to place it in your offices because this plant has the peculiarity of being able to purify the air by absorbing pollutants … we would like to tell you also the energy ones … but there is still no scientific evidence about this matter 🤣

And what about you? Do you have a dracena at home or in your office?
We imagine this plant in a  vaso Conca or in the  vaso Quadro Rigato (both belonging to the Décor Collection) … But also in the Vaso Quadro of the Terrae. Line.

What do you think?
