8 March and a mimosa for all the women

8 March 👉 International Women  Day
It is a day that is celebrated all over the world to remember social, political and economic achievements of women in recent decades.A day that also becomes a precious opportunity to denounce the discrimination and violence of which women are still victims and to continue the civil battle for equality and equal opportunities.Women’s Day, and the anniversary of March 8th , is connected to two historical events:

1. The first dates back to 1911 👉 on March 8 of that year a group of workers from a New York textile industry had been on strike for days against the terrible conditions in which they were working. To crush the protest, the owners of the company blocked the exits of the factory, preventing the workers from leaving. On that day, 134 women died.
2. The second historical event is related to the February Revolution in Russia, during the First World War. On March 8, 1917, in addition to all the men in revolt, many Russian workers also took to the streets to protest against the tsar.

History and origins aside, we still talk about #8 March! Even today it seems important to fight for women’s rights. Because if it is true that great strides have been made, it is equally true that gender differences and discrimination still exist in the world.A day full of content and values therefore which, since 1946, has been accompanied by the symbol of the mimosa.

But why do we give mimosa today?
The sprigs of mimosa are the symbol of International Women’s Day. In addition to a deliberate choice by the Union Women of Italy to celebrate this anniversary, there are several details of the mimosa that make it perfect for the occasion.

🌟 First of all, in the language of flowers the meaning of the mimosa is linked to strength and femininity but it is also used to express freedom, autonomy and sensitivity. All characteristics and qualities that blend perfectly with the cause and with the female gender.

🌟 The mimosa grows spontaneously so it is easy and cheap to find.

#PlastecnicTips 🌱 Let’s dispel a myth: mimosa is not a flower! It is an acacia originally from Australia, a shrub that in Italy has found the ideal conditions to grow and develop spontaneously and which delights us with its flowering and scent every year.

🌟 Mimosa plants are fast growing and require direct sunlight and tendentially acidic soil. The best choice if you want to plant a mimosa tree is to wait until late winter after the soil has thawed.Happy Woman day… and then, you know, there is no floral tribute without a pot!.We imagine the mimosa in our wonderful  mymood pot 😉
