Amaryllis: a plant that recalls spring!

08/06/2023 | Gardening, Inspiration

Amaryllis 🌸 the plant that brings spring… and colors… into your home! 🤗
That’s right! 👉 Amaryllis is the perfect choice, thanks to its vibrant and lush blooms. A perfect solution to add a touch of color and elegance everywhere. Whether they are balconies, terraces or gardens, we are talking about a plant that can decorate any place!!

Characteristics of the plant
Amaryllis is scientifically known as Hippeastrum. It is a bulb plant from tropical regions of the South and  Central America. We are not wrong when we say that what makes Amaryllis so amazing are its trumpet shaped flowers, that can be of different color such as red, pink, white, orange or even bicolored. They are flowers by the way not shy 😬 because they can reach large sizes and reach up to 15-20 cm in diameter.
Important! Although Amaryllis is originally from zone with tropical climates, it can be grown with success also indoors, thanks to its capacity to adapt to moderate light conditions.
If you choose to buy an Amaryllis, remember to have a drained soil rich of substances. Be careful with watering! This operation is necessary only when the soil is dry to the touch. So, avoid giving too much water and above all to create stagnations. The risk is to let the roots rot.

Such a beautiful plant…then… needs the right home and its suitable pot: 👉 a Plastecnic pot!!! 🌱
We have chosen a Mymood pot Cherry red colour of diameter cm16 😉 that we are going to use as a pot cover.
The whole Mymood line can be used as a pot cover or as a pot! In this case, just drill in the points indicated on the bottom or on the overflown turrets just to create a minimum water reserve inside the pot. It is
practical, functional, light ❤️
Once the pot has been chosen, we leave our  plant in a bright place avoiding the direct exposure to the sun rays, especially during the hottest hours of the day. We avoid its exposition to temperature lower than 10°.

Curiosity about the plant
Amaryllis is a plant that smells of spring, but also of sweetness. The name, of Greek origin, derives from the verb amarysso, that means to shine. Its flowers symbolize elegance, pride, beauty, but also shyness. This meaning is due to the aesthetic aspect of the flower, which blossoms large and majestic, with a beautiful lively color and a delicate scent, on a long stem. This is also why the plant is given as a gift,  just to symbolize inner strength and tenacity in action. At the same time, because of its delicate colors, this flower also means human soul such as reserve, introversion and shyness. In fact, it symbolizes the difficulty in expressing oneself and expressing one’s feelings.

Amaryllis 🌟 the flower most adapt to declare a shy, intense and… deep love!!! ❤️
