Marco Maggioni for NATURALIA 🌱
You know our Naturalia Collection, don’t you? 😆
But who is behind the “design” of Naturalia pots?
Ladies and gentlemen …we introduce you to Marco Maggioni an Italian industrial designer who has been working with Italian and foreign Companies for years, a well-known designer who has been able to add value to objects in terms of beauty and innovation.
It is Marco himself who has designed the pots for us in this collection, a line that is appreciated and chosen by many of our final consumers ❤️
In our blog #People you can find therefore our digital chat with him.
We met Marco few days ago and he told us a little about his creative concept, inspirations and projects.
“I realize every design project with a unique approach, first of all I try to understand the Company needs as well as the technological and marketing features. and consider them as mine.
I look for the source of inspiration that is inside of most of my projects by observing nature.
A limitless source of wonder and amazement.
The next phase is to deal with blank sheets of paper and transform incitements and suggestions into drawings.
Then I elaborate 3D computer models to transform the initial concepts into photorealistic images that highlight the originality of the imagined solutions. ”
From theory to practice passing through the Plastecnic project.
“For the collection of” Naturalia “pots I worked on developing a texture – creating traces with a fluid sign engraved into the surface – that was evocative of that organic nature of each plant: growth and shape, from the roots in the earth upwards to the search for light. ”
Marco continues his story by highlighting how, since he was a design student at IED School, subjects such as bionics applied to design have fascinated and guided him towards a conscious approach of sustainability and respect for the natural environment.
“Design and nature are, for me, an indissoluble condition of exploration and research which always give as results significant inspirations between form and function.
The study of raw material transformation technologies and the consequent correct application, in terms of design, is a crucial point for every designer: a vision that is only an idea without the foundations of an appropriate “know-how” is unlikely to become a successful industrial product. The Naturalia line of planters is the result of extensive collaboration between designers, the Company, marketing and production. ”
