Plastecnic: some food for thought with Emilia Bonanomi.
Someone is talking about the HUMAN FACTOR. Someone about humanization…
Sometimes they are just trends, sometimes strategies.
In many cases they represent reality.
And this reflects Plastecnic Company too!
We have been projecting and selling plastic pots manufactured with injection and rotational molding system since 1962.
Our mission is: “creating environments and containing nature to build atmospheres” 👉 a mission in which we trust as we believe that all our products are studied to welcome and respect flowers and plants and to transmit wellness and happiness. All our products have always been 100% “made in Italy”.
Why are we talking you about it?
Because we have grown a lot and our goal is to grow even more!
It is September, the real start of the year, and we allow ourself the luxury of taking a break for a while and reflect.
We didn’t do it by chance 😁 we’ve chosen to do it with Emilia Bonanomi, General Manager of the Company.
In the recent years – Emilia says – consumers’ approach to gardening has been constantly evolving. Plants are no more considered as decorative products but as living beings whose presence gives psychological and physical benefits to all who take care of them.
Another relevant aspect is the approach of young people to this field.
We would like to “be closer” to these “new” consumers and to all our customers as well because we want to give concrete suggestions not only in terms of products choice but also of values that look towards a “greener” and therefore more “sustainable” future.
The challenge that we’re going to face is to become a reference for all the green lovers and to find out their curiosities, their enthusiasm and their desire for knowledge in order to come back to them with concrete products and solutions by using the most suitable communication channels.
Plastecnic is a well-structured, solid Company whose family roots are strong and always current.
“From the beginning the idea of my father, on of the founding partner, has been to develop a Company as respectful as possible thanks to the good use of resources. Starting from the attention towards the employees, the environment and local communities, he has always preferred for example to work with local suppliers in order to keep the industrial development in the territory and to reduce the environmental impact, in a logic of sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship.
This “green” approach has always been shared by everyone in our Company and the results are not only structural actions such as the optimization of the production resources but also the small daily actions of each employee towards the elimination of waste and the reuse of row materials ”
Emilia highlights in several occasions how today sustainability and green have become fundamental topics for the business management model, a model that must ensure, in addition to the economic development, also social equity, employee safety and environmental quality that mean responsibility for the consequences of the environmental impact of economic activities.
I am convinced that today the strategy can no longer be based on a “business idea” but on a “sustainability idea” in a long-term vision that goes beyond the logic of a simple result.
For an end consumer Company like Plastecnic, which has always been accustomed to a responsible approach to production, consumption of resources and the reuse of materials, the goal to develop initiatives and investments that today are called “Circular Economy” model has not meant to invest in many changes as this model is an integral part of the Company mission.
We remind you that starting from this topic we have developed the “re-use RE-LOVE“ project.
The goal is to use at least 80% of recycled plastic from segregated waste collection in the next few years. The heart of the initiative is the use of recycled plastic supplied by EuCertPlast certified companies.
The European EuCertPlast certification introduces a logic of extreme transparency in a previously very unclear situation. The recycling chain must comply with specific parameters: traceability procedures and processes with low environmental impact, so that the plastic is recyclable again, generating a virtuous circular economy.
With the re-use project RE-LOVE, Plastecnic engages in a long and complex research system. In order to maintain this qualitative excellence, the Company must study the right combination of recycled and virgin plastic row material for each type of pot, as well it must consider these features in the design of new products.
Many production cycles are required to ensure maximum technical performance, resistance to environmental agents and durability.
Economic progress has been proceeding for years on a path that is no longer sustainable from an environmental point of view, that is why it is necessary to change the way of approaching production and consumption.
I think that Companies have the primary and fundamental role as influencer of these new “green” habits both in terms of offering products with low environmental impact, and in terms of adopting technologies and behaviors that respect environmental balances. We have a great responsibility towards end consumers and above all towards future generations. We are facing a great challenge. Growth can no longer take place only through the consumption of limited resources, we must transform this limit into value, incorporate it into our economic model, through the link of circularity and reuse.
Words of Emilia 😊🌱
