Colors trends 2023 👉 That’s right! Life and plastic are painting with colors 🌸
As we often tell research and products analysis represent very important business themes in Plastecnic.
👉 Research allows us to create new products, enhance products application and improve the functionality of our pots. Here we are telling you something more!
👉 Comparing and analyzing products allow us to always have a look beyond the lines with the goal to increase our experiences.
And thus, it is in this context that our updating and studying are also coming from other companies and in this case from Avient ColorWorks ™.
We are talking about a well-known Company not only in our branch and which, also for this year, has presented the Color Forward 2023 guide.
What is it about? 😁
It is a proper trend tool that defines the color trends for the year 2023.
Four trends that are likely to influence the tastes and choices of consumers.
Four trends to which a color palette is associated.
A global comparison work that starts from an analysis of contemporary lifestyles and future social changes. We want to talk about this important matter with Roberto Romanin, Graphic Designer and Creative Director of ColorWorks ™ EMEA.
What kind of work lays behind the identification of color trends?
Behind each edition of ColorForward ™ there is a full year of work involving the four regional teams present in the ColorWorks ™ network (APAC, EMEA, LATAM, NORAM).
While the five days of workshops are the most important moment for the discussion and creation of global trends and colors, it is the constant and daily research by the participants in this workshop that represents the true spirit of the instrument.
Curiosity, attention to changes and the willingness to understand what lies behind them are essential characteristics that each guest must have in order to identify the social trends of the future. The surrounding reality is already telling us to which direction we will go .. it is just a matter of observation.
How many people are involved in this research project?
The project involves a different number of people each year, approximately between 20 and 25 persons. In addition to the four ColorWorks ™ teams, colleagues from marketing, sales and technology also participate in the workshop. We try to have groups with heterogeneous members and with a good turnover of participants every year. This is essential to have constantly different points of view, a plurality of opinions from all over the world and thus as much inspiration as possible.
Do you want to tell us about the 2023 trends?
For sure! This year, as always, we present four trends that we consider relevant for 2023 and even longer.
They are called respectively CatalyƧt, Code Blue, Meet-your-verse and Mare Tranquillitatis.
In Mare Tranquillitatis we face the persistence of the CoVid-19 pandemic which has led to an ever-greater awareness and fear for people’s mental health. His care, also linked to innovative treatments, will be an important challenge for the future. The colors in this palette are mostly cool, transparent and in a couple of cases fluorescent. There is also a splash effect that represents the growing acceptance regarding the medical use of some psychoactive substances.
Code Blue in hospital terminology generally indicates a patient with impaired vital function. In this case our planet is the patient and the immediate danger is represented by the ongoing climate crisis. A possible solution, not without risks, could be Geoengineering, also known as climate engineering, or the set of technologies proposed to try to fight the causes or effects of the climate change and in particular global warming on a planetary scale. The colors of this palette are earthy, suitably muted and a little “dirty” to reflect the anxiety that many people are experiencing.
These fears are particularly acute among the youngest generations, but these are also those who are pushing the most for concrete action not only on the climate but on a whole series of situations that will shape our future.
This trend, titled CatalyƧt (the back “S” is an indirect reference to Generation Z, the demographic group that is pushing these changes the most), is represented by a palette of colors that are mostly bright, hopeful and dynamic. It is a non-generational story that, however, speaks of generations.
The most eclectic color family that includes transparent, metallic and interferential elements is finally represented by Meet-your-verse.
Here the key element is represented by the Metaverse, which is an area of convergence of interactive virtual spaces, located and accessible by users through an avatar with the function of representing the individual identity. This concept is widely regarded as the natural future of the Internet and it is receiving attention and investment from important technology Companies.
